A brand new documentary centered on Canadian superstar Celine Dion is set to arrive this summer, and the documentary was recently acquired by Amazon MGM Studios and is set to arrive on Prime Video on June 25th.
Dion, who has spent the last few years away from the spotlight, will see her story told by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Irene Taylor will take “viewers on a journey inside Céline’s past and present as she reveals her battle with stiff-person syndrome (SPS) and the lengths she has gone to continue performing for her beloved and loyal fans”, according to an official press release.
Dion announced back in 2022 that she was dealing with the rare neurological condition (SPS) and that it was preventing her from performing her previously scheduled shows. Dion had previously been forced to cancel a number of shows in January of that year, prior to her announcing her condition publicly.
“This last couple of years has been such a challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with and manage it, but not to let it define me,” Dion wrote in a post on her official Instagram page. “As the road to resuming my performing career continues, I have realized how much I have missed it, of being able to see my fans. During this absence, I decided I wanted to document this part of my life, to try to raise awareness of this little-known condition, to help others who share this diagnosis.”
The feature-length documentary called ‘I Am Celine Dion’ will be available in more than 240 countries and territories.
