The Detroit Red Wings are attempting to sign center Dylan Larkin to a new deal, but their latest offer doesn’t seem to be enough, as Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press says that the team offer Larkin eight-years with an $8 million annual average.
Larkin, 26, will likely look to come to a compromise on the pay, and while there is no deal as of yet, Larkin says there are no tensions, or a strain, between he and the organization as they continue negotiations.
“It doesn’t seem like there are any hard feelings, it is just the way it is going. With Steve, I don’t really expect anything else. It’s been very professional and we’ve had a lot of conversations about the team and certain things that come up during a season with guys or whatever it may be. It’s been pretty status quo.”
