Former CFL quarterback Nathan Rourke who enjoyed a career year back in 2022 with the B.C. Lions has now taken his talents to the National Football League where he signed with the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The move comes after Rourke cleared NFL waivers.
Rourke became the CFL’s top Canadian player during his 2022 season, a career year with the Lions where he threw for 3,349 yards, completing 255 of 324 pass attempts. His 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions earned him a league-high completion rate of 78.7%.
While his season was great he did have some pitfalls as Rourke missed eight games due to a Lisfranc sprain in his right foot.
Rourke just completed an impressive preseason with the Jaguars, completing 66% of his passes, throwing for 348 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions but Jacksonville ultimately decided to waive him.
The Jaguars have now brought him back to their practice squad.
