The Pittsburgh Penguins are expected to work out a contract extension with defenseman Marcus Pettersson and a deal is considered “all but done”, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Pettersson signed a one-year deal last month, which means he isn’t techincally able to sign an extension until January 1st, but the two sides can certainly agree to terms ahead of that date.
Pettersson, 23, has impressed Pittsburgh with his play to start the season.
