Hurricanes’ Valentin Zykov Assigned To AHL On Conditioning Loan

Carolina Hurricanes forward Valentin Zykov has been heavily shopped on the trade market as of later, but without any deals in the works the Hurricanes have decided that they will assign Zykov to the minors on a conditioning loan.

By doing so, Zykov, 23, will still be able to play with a professional team, the Charlotte Checkers, as the Hurricanes continue to find a deal. Zykov has appeared in only 13 games for Carolina this season, notching less than 10 minutes of ice time on average.
