The Toronto Maple Leafs and assistant general manager Mark Hunter have officially parted ways, per an official team announcement.
Things started taking shape when it was reported that Hunter was not in attendance for the Memorial Cup as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
While Hunter is out of Toronto, he will not be permitted to work for another team until after the upcoming draft and free agency period, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.
Hunter was passed over recently for the general manager job in Toronto, which led to his eventual departure.
