The New York Rangers are gaining traction on the trade market regarding defenseman Ryan McDonagh and the trade market is starting to take shape.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are one team with interest in McDonagh and the team is not listed on McDonagh’s no-trade list, which includes 10 teams, according to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic.
The Boston Bruins are also listed as “in the mix” but the report indicates that Boston will only make a move if the Rangers’ asking price drops.
The Maple Leafs have been looking for another top-4 defenseman and although Travis Dermott has been a revelation, the team still is looking for an upgrade on the back end.
