Avs’ Tyson Barrie To Miss 4-6 Weeks

The Colorado Avalanche will be without defenseman Tyson Barrie for four-to-six weeks, according to Avs head coach Jared Bednar (h/t Mike Chambers of the Denver Post).

Barrie suffered a fractured hand after blocking Arizona Coyotes’ Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s shot.

Barries has four goals and 27 assists so far this season.

The Colorado Avalanche have signed defenseman Ian Cole to a three-year contract that comes with an annual average value of $4.25M, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.

Cole, 29, provides the Avs with a left-handed shooting option who can play alongside the likes of Erik Johnson, or Tyson Barrie.

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed forward Gabriel Bourque, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, to a one-year deal.

At the time of this post, no financial details have been announced.

Bourque, 27, scored 11 points, including 5 goals last season for Colorado.

Avs’ Nathan MacKinnon To Miss Game With Injury

The Colorado Avalanche won’t have forward Nathan MacKinnon in the lineup when they take on the Edmonton Oilers due to one is considered a day-to-day injury.

The team made the announcement on Wednesday, stating that MacKinnon is expected to be reevaluated over the next 24 hours and, at that point, the team would have more information regarding he injury, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.

MacKinnon is second in league scoring with 61 points over 49 games this season.
