Philadelphia Flyers rookie center Nolan Patrick returned to practice on Wednesday and is on track to play in Philadelphia’s game against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.
Patrick sustained an upper-body injury when he hit into the right-wing boards by Anaheim Ducks center Craig Wagner during the second period of their game on Tuesday.
Patrick laid on the ice before being assisted off the ice by Flyers director of sports medicine Jim McCrossin.
Wagner was not penalized for the hit but Patrick stated he considered it to be a clean play.
Was clean [hit],” Patrick said. “I just hit my face on the glass. Happened pretty fast. I’ve got to protect myself better.”
