Chad Johnson Getting Situated with Montreal Alouettes

Montreal Alouettes

When the Montreal Alouettes announced they had signed NFL-veteran Chad Johnson to a contract, there were many questions as to what exactly Johnson would bring to the table and how he would translate to the CFL. As of this week, things seem to be settling in for Johnson in Montreal.

“I’m not where I wanna be, but i’m not rusty, rusty was Vero Beach, now that’s rusty” Johnson told the media.

Johnson hasn’t played football in two years but feels right at home in training camp.

“The time I’ve had off, I got myself together so I’m coming here hitting the ground rolling. Am I where I wanna be? No. I’m not gonna lie I have a long way to go but I’m not rusty.”

Johnson is expecting to bring the same explosiveness that fans of his were used to seeing during his days with the Bengals and seems to be adjusting to the CFL quite fine.

“I run like a gazelle. The speed is exactly the same that I’ve dealt with in the past 12 years in the NFL so there’s no difference. The level of competition is really no different.

Johnson expressed how “eye opening” the CFL experience has been with him so far.

“This is the real deal up here as well.”
