The Montreal Alouettes will hold a news conference Wednesday where offensive lineman Scott Florry, who spent 15 years with the Alouettes, will announce his retirement, per reports.
Montreal selected Flory in the third round, 15th overall, in the ’98 CFL draft out of the University of Saskatchewan.
Flory recently became the new president of the CFL Players’ Association in late March of this year and is participating in talks with the league on a new collective bargaining agreement.
Twice the CFL’s top lineman (2008 and 2009), the six-foot-four, 296-pound Flory, 37, helped Montreal register three Grey Cup victories (2002, ’09 and ’10). Flory earned CFL all-star honours nine times in his career.
