Jets’ Goalie Connor Hellebuyck Leads 3 Stars Of The Week Honors

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson and Boston Bruins right winger David Backes have been named the NHL’s “Three Stars” for the week ending the 2017 calendar year.

Hellebuyck went 3-0-0 with a 1.67 goals-against average, .952 save percentage and one shutout and his performance has the Jets sitting atop the Central Division.

Las Vegas’ Karlsson notched 4-1-5 in three games to help the Golden Knights to one heck of a week.

Backes paced the NHL with 3-3-6 in three games and the Boston Bruins to a 2-0-1 week.

Bruins Re-Sign Sean Kuraly To Three-Year Deal

The Boston Bruins have announced the re-signing of restricted free agent Sean Kuraly to a new three-year contract that will carry a cap hit of $1.275M, according to a team announcement.

Kuraly, 25, has notched 15 points in 83 regular-season games.

The Boston Bruins have finally found their backup netminder as they have agreed to terms with veteran goalie Jaroslav Halak, according to Fox Sports Midwest’s Andy Strickland.

Boston made the move after failing to sign Anton Khudobin, who is expected to sign with the Dallas Stars.

Bruins’ Rick Nash Undecided on Playing Next Season

Boston Bruins Rick Nash has not decided on playing next season, putting a hold on plans that he will hit to free agent market once free agency opens.

According to Nash’s agent, Joe Resnick, Nash is still undecided about whether or not he’ll play next season, and thus will forgo the July 1 signing period, according to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun.

Nash, who split time between the Bruins and the New York Rangers, scored 21 goals and 34 points last season and was expected to draw interest from the Columbus Blue Jackets once he hit the open market.
