Red Wings’ Mike Green Out a Month Due to Virus

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Mike Green will be out for a month as he deals with a virus, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.

Green, who a two-year, $10.75-million extension with Detroit this offseason, missed the final nine games of last season doe to a neck injury and underwent cervical spine surgery at the conclusion of the NHL season, so the latest bump in the road has to be frustrating.

The virus has kept Green off the ice and out of action for the entire preseason.
