Caps’ Nicklas Backstrom Played Through Multiple Fractures In Finger During Playoffs

Washington Capitals’ Nicklas Backstom is still celebrating, along with the franchise, their Stanley Cup victory over the Vegas Golden Knights,but for Backstrom, the journey was more than just the battle on the ice, as he played through injuries.

Backstrom missed the final game of the second round and the opening three games of the Conference Finals with an upper-body injury, but Backstrom also revealed to the media that he suffered a couple of fractures in his finger, according to NBC Sports’ Tarik El-Bashir.

Backstrom will not require any offseason surgery.
