The Montreal Canadiens and Max Pacioretty, who can become an unrestricted free agent after next season, have discussed a contract extension, according to TSN.
According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin and Pacioretty’s agent, Pat Brisson, have discussed an extension.
Pacioretty can sign the new deal as soon as July 1st.
Pacioretty had 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists) in 64 games for the Canadiens last season, but missed the final 18 games with a knee injury.
