Montreal Canadiens defenseman Shea Weber’s toughness should never be questioned and he, again, proved his toughness after it was revealed that he played 25 games with the fractured foot that has cost him the rest of the season.
On Tuesday, Weber said that he suffered the injury while blocking a shot attempt by Buffalo Sabres’ Jack Eichel during the first game of the season, all the way back in October, according to SportsNet’s Eric Engels.
Weber kept playing through the injury until December 16th and recorded six goals and 10 assists in around 25 minutes per game.
Still, Weber admits that he would have kept playing as long as possible, despite knowing that the foot was fractured. “I’ve played through fractures before.”
Weber is hopeful that he will be back for training camp.
