Predators Acquire Ryan Hartman From Blackhawks

The Nashville Predators have traded for Chicago Blackhawks forward Ryan Hartman, sending Chicago a 1st round and 4th round pick in 2018, along with forward prospect Victor Ejdsell.

Hartman, 23, has 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists) in 57 games this season for Chicago who also sent a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft to Nashville.

Blackhawks Place Jason Garrison on Waivers

The Chicago Blackhawks have officially placed veteran defenseman Jason Garrison on waivers, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Garrison was recently acquired from the Edmonton Oilers, who arrived only a few days ago.

Chicago Blackhawks’ defenseman Connor Murphy will miss around eight weeks, or more, due to a back injury, the team announced on Wednesday.

Murphy will be off the ice for six weeks, and will undergo further testing to determine if it is appropriate to ramp up his physical activity, or if he will need four additional weeks of rest, putting his total possible timeline at 8-12 weeks.

Blackhawks’ Ivan Nalimov Rescinds Trade Request

Chicago Blackhawks’ goalie prospect Ivan Nalimov has rescinded that trade request after speaking with Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman, and is now focused on spending the 2018-19 season playing overseas in the KHL, according to The Athletic’s Scott Powers.

Nalimov requested for his rights to be traded despite not even having a contract with the Blackhawks, in the hopes of getting playing time in North America, as Chicago has Corey Crawford, Anton Forsberg and Cam Ward on their roster.

Nalimov will play for Kunlun Red Star this season.
