Canadiens’ Shea Weber Out For Season Following Foot Surgery

The Montreal Canadiens will be without defenseman Shea Webber, who will undergo surgery to repair a tendon in his left foot, for the remainder of the season, the team announced on Thursday.

“Following the diagnosis of Shea Weber’s injury, it was our belief that after a comprehensive rehabilitation protocol under the guidance of our medical team, Shea would be able to return to play this season. Unfortunately, after extensive efforts to heal Shea’s injury, progress has not been made as expected,” Canadiens orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Paul Martineau stated.

Weber, 32,  hasn’t seen action since December 16th and is in his second season with the Canadiens.

Weber recorded 16 points in 26 games this season for Montreal
