Kings’ Dustin Brown To Have Hearing With NHL Department of Player Safety

Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Brown will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday for crosschecking Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Justin Schultz during the 3rd period of their Thursday game.

Schultz left the game and did not return.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: cross-checking but the NHL Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

Kings Activate Jack Campbell

The Los Angeles Kings have activated Jack Campbell from the injured reserve list after he suffered no setbacks during his conditioning stint.

In a corresponding move, the Kings have sent Carl Petersen to the minors, assigning him back to the Ontario Reign in the AHL.

Kings’ Tobias Rieder Drawing Interest From Four Teams

Los Angeles Kings pending free agent Tobias Rieder has engaged with four of the seven Canadian teams, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.

Rieder didn’t receive a qualifying offer from the Kings, which would have made him a restricted free agent.

Kings Trade Andy Andreoff To Lightning For Peter Budaj

The Los Angeles Kings have traded forward Andy Andreoff to the Tampa Bay Lightning for veteran backup netminder Peter Budaj on Wednesday.

Budaj spent the majority of two seasons with the Kings before being dealt to Tampa Bay back in February 2017. He worked 8 games last season for the Lightning earning a 3-3-1 record to along with a .876 save percentage and 3.76 goals-against average.

Andreoff  registered 13 goals and 11 assists across 159 regular-season games.
