The Vegas Golden Knights might have to pick up the phone and call another club about a trade for Vadim Shipachyov.
The Montreal Canadiens “aren’t biting” at Las Vegas’ efforts to trade Shipachyov to them, according to Sportsnet’s Eric Engels.
The Golden Knights gave Shipachyov’s representatives permission to seek a trade, according to a report on Wednesday from Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Shipachyov was again assigned to the AHL’s Chicago Wolves but it is unclear if he will actually report.
Vegas signed Shipachyov to a two-year, $9-million contract back in May and Shipachyov, 30, is coming off a career-high 26 goals and 76 points in the KHL last season.
