The Montreal Canadiens will be without defenseman Shea Weber who will be out indefinitely with a foot injury.
Weber, 32, had his foot re-evaluated on Monday.
“We’re going to shut him down for a little bit,” Canadiens’ head coach Claude Julien said.
“His situation is not getting better. He’s got an injury in the foot area that got better and then it gets worse again, so we are going to send him home and get him reevaluated.”
“He’s still playing but he’s certainly not comfortable there, so we need to get this solved, so we’re going to send him home and get our doctors to look at him again,” Julien said (h/t NHL.com).
“He was trying his best and at the end, I think the best thing to do is shut him down.”
Weber has six goals and 16 points in 26 games for Montreal this season.
