Devils’ Taylor Hall Day-to-Day, With No Structural Damage

The New Jersey Devils received some good news regarding the health of left winger Taylor Hall, who suffered a contusion in his right knee.

“The real positive news is that there is no structural damage,” Devils coach John Hynes said (h/t NHL.com).

“Bad news he won’t play at Montreal, but it’s just a contusion and it will take a little while for him to get ready and that’s why we have him day to day.”

Hall was injured during the third period in New Jersey’s 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday when he went collided knees with Kings’ defenseman Kurtis MacDermid.

“Obviously Taylor is a big part of our team and has played fantastic for us this year but over 82 games you’re going to go through this,” Hynes continued.

“You will have guys out. You want Taylor to play 82 games but sometimes that doesn’t happen, so it’s about making sure the guys in the lineup are ready to go and understand how we need to play.”

Nick Lappin was recalled from Binghamton of the American Hockey League and will join the Devils in Montreal.
