Bruins Sign David Pastrnak To 6-year, $40M contract

In the end, the Boston Bruins got their man.

The Bruins and restricted free agent David Pastrnak ended their long standoff in negotiations and agreed to a six-year, $40-million contract that will keep the 21-year old in Boston through the 2022-23.

The new deal carries an average annual value of $6.67 million.

“Work paid off for both sides,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said on Thursday. “We’re both excited to have it resolved. Pasta’s a big part of what we’re trying to build.”

Pastrnak netted 34 goals and 36 assists in 75 games last season.
